The Taste

Hello! Nei hou! Konnichiwa!
I'm Megumi and please call me Meg.

I am crazy about eating and cooking, and these two are my pleasure of my life. Eating is a daily-life action and we have no question to do that, but it really is the important thing to do to live because what we need to live longer is energy and the energy comes from what we eat: food! And cooking is also important because by cooking we can taste the food differently each time and we can keep having a great energy without getting bored with the same taste. I can eat and cook by myself, but when I do that with my friends, doing that becomes more meaningful and I can have a wonderful time. I want to share my idea about the importance of eating and cooking, and want to share the happiness which food brings with others. That is why I chose this class.

The reason why I chose "Spice Up Your Life" as my blog's name is that I want to experience and learn many things and want to enjoy my life. And I hope that all the experiences and things I learn will be good SPICES to make my life exciting and TASTY.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. Every time I introduce myself to others, I talk about Hong Kong, because it was the most influential place to mold my personality or character. I lived there for 4 years when I was an elementary school student. Hong Kong has a unique history and culture. The place is a part of China, but was colonized by the UK for more that 100 years, and it also has a close relationship between Japan. In Hong Kong, we can enjoy and get excitements of British culture and Chinese culture as foreign cultures, and can feel relaxed with a close culture to Japanese one at the same time. It is like killing three birds with one stone, right? Then, what I want to say is that I am that kind of person. I am Japanese, I speak Japanese in daily life, and I love Japan, but I call Hong Kong my home town, I always think about Hong Kong and I eat/cook Chinese and Cantonese food a lot as daily meals. In addition, sometimes I feel more comfortable when I speak English instead of Japanese (though my English is not perfect...haha!). So, I have my original culture or character mixed with/influenced by different cultures! In order to express my culture and personality simply, I greeted you in different languages, English, Cantonese and Japanese, at the beggining. I hope you enjoy them.

Well, now you know me! Now you know my taste! I want to know more about you all and want to have a wonderful relationship with you all!

I think I am so lucky to take such a captivating, fascinating and attractive class, and I am so excited to do all the activities through the semester.

See you! Zhoi gin! Matane!
